Names of love – The love that dares to speak its name is a series of portraits of LGBT couples living together – married, common law or in stable relationships for more than two years. It was designed and is being developed by the photographer Simone Rodrigues since 2014.

The project evokes the memory of Stonewall, which in 2019 will celebrate 50 years. “The uprising of Stonewall”, as it is known the violent episode of resistance of gays to police repression in New York, in 1969, is considered as the starting point of the current movement of LGBT liberation and civil rights.

With all the advances that occurred, we are still, almost half a century later, amid fierce disputes for equality, against homophobia and for the recognition of the homosexual family.
